Luxury Italian Kitchen Design

I don’t know how we’re already upon Memorial Day. This spring just flew by. Reflecting farther back, it’s had to believe a year ago I was writing about the resurgence of Kitchen Armoire as a trend to watch.  Last year I was enamored by the Miuccia kitchen by TM Italia Cucine. Now, I find myself looking at Cesar, another luxury Italian kitchen manufacturer.

Cesar‘s Unit collection, which was unveiled at the AD Design Show, is a small kitchen collection that features islands and pantries in “silk-effect Lagoon” lacquers or walnut veneer perched upon satin lacquered aluminum supports with and satin brass adjustable foot.

These dark lacquered UNIT bases are paired with Cesar’s Wall Waiter for a minimal kitchen that would be perfect for bachelor who is a rising star.

The Wall waiter has an integral LED light for illuminating the work top and when open, the flap becomes an extra shelf.

“It is not a simple decoration or a complex system of elements, but a functional series reflecting, interpreting, the new vision of space dedicated to cooking today.”

According to Vicente Garcia and Cinzia Cumini , the UNIT designers, the objective of UNIT is to connect the practicality and ergonomics of the professional kitchen with the humanity of the home kitchen

The tallest UNIT cabinet can hold a dishwasher and an oven.

UNIT is a modular system that is not constrained to the walls of a kitchen  and works with the more fluid design of today’s contemporary homes. The freed up space below the cabinetry allows for the occupants to move more freely while cooking as you would in a professional kitchen.

The pair of designers also changed up the way a typical cabinet is constructed when they designed the UNIT collection. The precision detailing of the corner legs and countertop edge is sublime.

The small brass adjustable foot stands out as a design detail. I believe the top is Corian.

I love the thin edge ad seamless weld on the integral sink. Luxury design at it’s finest!

The Cesar Milan flagship showroom shows how you can mix finishes and configure your UNIT kitchen in a nontraditional way.
