I have one of these integrated sinks by Karran in my laminate. It looks to be a near-identical installation, and I would advise against it. The edges of the laminate are all getting nicked and chipped from bumping pots and pans. If I had it to do over, I’d never do it again. I would do a Silgranit drop-in. It’s a great idea, and I love the integrated part, with no rim. But it’s not wearing well. Mine isn’t even a year old, and there are two noticeable chips, and several little nicks. Sort of falls into the, “if it seems to good to be true, it probably is” category.
Don’t get too excited y’all!!! You have to think about this, when the enamel goes bad and that’s pretty quick. You’re only option is to replace the entire countertop. Or try and recoat. years of experience and I will tell you right now! Recoating with any product you can purchase on the shelf, even with thorough prepping will last a year or less usually less…. As well as it’ll cost 4 to 600 dollars to have it reglazed. And tan colored sinks will leave a blackish scuff mark every time you put a pot in. Baaaad idea.
Ideally, both the countertop and sink are new and this is not a retrofit or patch.
