Arçelik A.S. of Turkey and Beko US, of Bolingbrook, Ill. are announcing the voluntary recall of about 6,300 Blomberg and Summit brand freestanding electric ranges.

Not too long ago, I wrote about the Turkish manufacturer in an article about the growth of the global appliance market. It’s nice to see that they are at least servicing their appliances here.

Samsung Recalls Top-Load Washing Machines

Here’s an important recall from Samsung  for 34 models of their top-load washing machines.

Samsung has received 733 reports of washing machines experiencing excessive vibration and/or the top detaching  exploding off from the washing machine chassis.

The 2.8 million washers affected by the recall were manufactured in South Korea, China and Thailand between March 2011 and November 2016 and sold for between $450 and $1,500. Continue reading “Samsung Recalls Top-Load Washing Machines”

Electrolux Recalls Wall Ovens Made for Frigidaire and Kenmore

A small recall from the Electrolux has been issued in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

About 1000 electric wall ovens (single and double) manufactured by Elecrolux for Frigidaire and Kenmore could have a faulty thermal switch posing a fire hazard.

They were sold in black, white or stainless steel. The single ovens measure about 24 inches wide, 32 inches tall and 25 inches deep. The double ovens measure about 24 inches wide, 51 inches tall and 25 inches deep. “Kenmore” or “Frigidaire” is printed below the oven window. The model and serial numbers are located on the left side trim on the inside of the oven. The following model and serial numbers are included in this recall:

The Frigidaire ovens were sold at by Knie Appliance & TV, Inc., in Illinois from March 2016 through April 2016.

If you own a recalled oven, you should immediately stop using it and schedule your free inspection and repair.
