New Hardware from Amerock

WesterlyAmerock has been producing decorative hardware in a variety of finishes for varying tastes since 1929.  This year they continue to expand their offering with a new collection called Industrial Chic.

The Industrial Chic line of retro-inspired hardware incorporates the aesthetics of urban loft living with commercial kitchen simplicity.

The Rochdale Collection includes knobs and pulls with rivets for a decidedly industrial look.

The Westerly Collection features sleek, modern lines with a more substantial feel.

Both collections are available in Satin Nickel and the new Graphite finish.  These two collections are an extension of the Kane and Crosley collections introduced last year.

Look for these two new collections in late 2008.

Art Glass Tile

Hirsch Glass Corp. was another company that recently showed at KBIS.  They are the largest stained glass manufacturer in China.  They are famous for their art glass but are now becoming known for their beautiful glass tile. Unlike many tile companies who apply their color to the surface of the tile, Hirsch Glass adds their swirls of color throughout the body of the tile.  Their glass has a distinct 3-dimentional appearance.

My blog for GLAM.COM is up for you to read.  I tried to highlight new products from various industry categories.  It seems the new plumbing and appliances often get most of the attention.  I hope you enjoy it.

This picture is from the Silestone Party I attended.  The DJ was rockin’ and many seemed to enjoy the Go-go Dancers.  The food was also pretty spectacular.  Thanks Silestone!

Silestone introduced their new LIFE Series at the show this year.  This expands Silestone’s offerings to 65 colors and 2 texture options.

Protected by Microban, it is the only countertop that inhibits the growth of microbes such as odor-causing bacteria, mold and mildew on its surface with antimicrobial product protection. Silestone countertops are safe for the quality of interior air throughout their lifetimes, as they do not off-gas pollutants into the air and emit zero volatile organic compounds.

2008 Color Trend Black and White at KBIS

Wells SinkwareBlack and White is such a great color combination.  It’s instantly elegant even with the simplest materials.  Here are some photos and products from this year’s KBIS that you can use in your black and white theme.

The Damask Remix Vessel Sink design by Cheryl Erikson-Wong for Wells Sinkware could be seen in the New Product Pavilion.  These sinks are made by sandwiching the pattern between two layers of glass. The double layer of glass makes these sinks very durable as well.

lacquered wall tileAnn Sacks displayed their Laque Tile.  These dramatic lacquer wall tiles come in 12″x24″ format in black or white.  These tiles are manufactured in a traditional Vietnamese style that dates back to the third and fourth centuries B.C.  Each wood tiles receive 12-18 coats of lacquer and is hand polished to a warm glossy finish.  These tiles are not for wet areas but work great for accent walls.

This luxurious bath is from the Traditional Home Magazine vignette in the KBIS Design Idea Center.  If you don’t have as much floor space you can incorporate the simple lines and stately elegance.  Black glass chandeliers are at the top of the list of must-have chic accessories.

Traditional Home

This Vanity from Duravit is great for high style in small baths. I think this would look great with a damask print tile.

One of the best things about using a black and white theme is that you can always change up your accessories to add some spice or give the room a new feeling.  Red is a hot accent color right now. Most trend-spotters are crediting the upcoming Olympics for Red’s popularity.
