Flo Sink and Dune Tile by DEX

This double trough sink by Dex Studiosis named the Flo. It is 66″ by 17.5″ deep with a 6.5″ apron. The sink shown is made from DexTerra which is a terrazzo product available in 65 color combinations.

The Flo sink can be customized up to 9 feet in length. A smaller single basin Flo Vanity is also available.

The Dune wall tile was also made by Dex. It is shown in St. Simon’s Tan, one of their 25 standard solid colors. Other tiles designs should be on their website soon.

Dex products are ideal for use in projects obtaining LEED qualification. Recycled content of DEX concrete and terrazzo can be specified from 10% to 70% of total content.

Tord Boontje 2009 Collection for Bizassa

I’m a huge Tord Boontje fan and was very excited to find pictures of furniture pieces he designed for Bizassa Home.

The Digital Memories Collection contains three new pieces inspired by the shapes and colors of nature. The tile patterns are named Summer Trees, Dark Waters and Night Vision.

The mosaic pattern on the Night Vision commode (right) echoes an amplified image of a pixelated black and white photograph. “We use digital images from cameras and video to capture moments of life, these become our memories. The collection…is based on the idea [that] images…trigger memories when you look at them” says Boontje.

Linear Glass Mosaic Tiles

Interstyle Ceramic & Glass, one of North America’s leading glass tile manufacturers, has a new collection of linear mosaic tile with recycled content.

Icestix comes in 1/2″ x 2″ and 1/2″ x 4″ tiles in straight, running bond and random stagger sheets. The collection is available in 12 textured color blends.

Linear tile will be a hot trend in 2009. You can install it vertically as an accent at a range or cut up the sheets to mix it with large field tile.

Round Ceramic Tile

First glance of the concept board may make you think this is another penny round tile. However, the Capri Tile from Ann Sacks is 3″ round. It’s an ideal choice if you are not a fan of mosaic tile but want an alternative to traditional tile shapes.

The collection is available in soft pastel hues making it a great choice for creating a relaxing bathroom.

Other shapes include 3×6 rectangular and 4 1/4″ square tiles for coordinating walls and floors.
