Thanksgiving is just around the corner and I’ve got you covered with this DIY centerpiece idea that proves Thanksgiving centerpieces don’t need to be elaborate or expensive. This DIY craft is also great for keeping young ones out of school on holiday break busy!

Design Your Color Palette

Succulents have a fun color palette of sage greens, grays and blues. Give them that fall vibe by combining them with matte black, wood tones, and metallics such as copper.

Select Your Container

Whether you select a wooden box, small gourds, birch logs or a foam pumpkin from the local craft shop, short containers allow guests to see each other across the table.

Real Succulent Inspiration


Felt or pre-cut shapes such as Felt-Fetti
Felt Pom Poms
Moss accents
Hot Glue Gun
Make-up  or colored chalk for adding color (optional)
Container of your choice


To make the succulent center take one small oval -fold in half twice and use just a bit of glue to secure. Then take 3 ovals -fold in half and form around succulent center. Continue attaching ovals on the underside of the plant to form your succulent. You can make them large or small by selected fewer or more ovals to attach.
