Appliance Recalls

GE is recalling about 244,000 single, double and microwave combo wall ovens to due to fire and burn hazards.

If the wall oven door is removed and incorrectly re-attached by the installer or the consumer, the extreme heat used in the self-clean cycle can escape and potentially cause a fire or a burn hazard to consumers.

This recall involves GE wall ovens sold under the following brand names: GE®, GE ProfileTM, Monogram® and Kenmore®.

The wall ovens were sold in white, black, bisque and stainless steel. The appliances were sold between October 2002 and December 2004.

Sanyo is recalling it’s Top Open Drum series of washer-dryers sold in Japan between 2002 and 2003 after finding some of it’s parts caught fire.

The recall covers 279,583 units of the Top Open Drum-type washer-dryer which Sanyo says it will repair at no cost.
