ALUSID LTD is a new UK based company, manufacturing an exciting range of unique, highly sustainable interior and exterior architectural surface materials.
ALUSID is a spin-off company from the Silicate Research Unit of University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).
AluSiD was the name given to launch prototype examples of the ‘Eco-material’ David and Dr Alasdair Bremner had been developing as part of the AHRC (Arts and Humanities Research Council) funded research project called ‘The Aesthetic of Waste”. The research project examines mineral waste as a potential alternative to traditional construction materials.
ALUSID will be launching its first product range at 100% Design 2015 in London this September.
Our products made from 95%-100% recycled waste glass and ceramic offer complete control of colour, tone and texture, creating a genuinely sustainable alternative to imported natural stone products.
