THG has introduced a new line of traditional faucets for their Cuisine kitchen series named Traditionelle.

THG’s new kitchen faucets are every bit as detailed and defined in their construction as the brand’s upscale collections for the bath that we’ve all come to love. Finish offerings include polished chrome, matte nickel and bronze.

In honor of its bath namesake modeled after the Belle Époque, THG’s 1900 features either a curved, high spout with embellished detailing and cross handles or a straight extendable spout.

The Provencal-inspired, deck-mounted Bastide has the curved spout of what I have come to think of as the typical french country faucet. The porcelain lever makes one-handed operation effortless.

The Alliance faucet is described as having nautical overtones. I think the deck-mounted version looks like a bar tap but I am a big fan of the wall-mounted style.

The Montmartre, named in honor of the most revered areas of Paris that was home to Impressionists, is a traditional faucet with a little twist added to the styling. It features an embellished on top with a more linear spout and has a more classically-inspired finial.

Best Use of Paperstone

I haven’t been the biggest fan of Paperstone, the sustainable solid surface material made from recycled paper, because it shows water spots. However, I recently stumbled across these images of a kitchen and an island countertop made with various shades of the eco-friendly material.

Designer Alessio Bassan gets all the credit but I’d like to give a nod to the fabrication team for the Key Kitchen Project.

Whirlpool Ice Collection

Be on the lookout for the new Ice Collection from Whirlpool. This new streamlined collection of kitchen appliances will include refrigerators, wall ovens, ranges, and dishwashers. White Ice and Black Ice are the finish choices.

As best I can tell, Whirlpool doesn’t list the new appliances as an actual collection on their website so it’s best to do a search by finish. The new sleek appliances have cleaner lines and are unified by an arched stainless handle.

This new series could be a solution to a problem many remodelers face when looking at professional-grade appliances that bust their budget. If your goal is to find appliances that look clean and sharp and you don’t need extra cooking power, the Ice Collection may be the solution you need.

Design Obsession

I seem to be Obsessed with Arabesque tile these days. It doesn’t matter if they are glass, painted clay or somewhere in between – I like them all.

The traditional Moroccan shape adds old world texture without adding a lot of pattern. The tile can look contemporary or antique depending on the material and color you select and the installation process.
