Sicis Mosaic Tiles turn an ordinary claw-foot tub into a work of art.
Sicis suggests that the ornate bathtub could move beyond the boundaries of the bathroom to form an installation in another area, such as the garden, living room or bedroom. I think you run the risk of making your home look like a hotel if you place your tub in your bedroom but I like this new take on a classic design.
This exquisite waterfall bar was created by Tokujin Yoshioka as a private gallery installation in Tokyo. Yoshioka, recently named 2007 Designer of the Year by Design Miami, created the table and bench by specially crafting optical glass typically used in giant observatory telescopes.
The illusion of water is most striking. Could this be the next luxury coutnertop material? I think it might be seen in top restaurants/bars before in homes.
I love the simplicity of the Pluviae Shower Head from Matteo Thun & Partners. Matteo Thun designs everything from fabrics to sunglasses. Thun’s personal design principles reflect his respect for nature and surroundings, simplicity of layout, serenity of spirit and sensuality of material and light.
The shower curtain is optional – especially in a wet room.
Most of my whole house projects involve some sort of built-in. They can be anywhere from dining rooms to hallways. But, I have yet to be asked to design a child’s bed.
These images from the Netherlands based Kid’s Factory are so much fun. I always wanted a sleeping compartment as a child and I would have pestered my parents to no end if I thought I could get one as cool as these.
