BlueStar Wall Oven Recall

BlueStar gas-powered stainless steel wall ovens are being recalled by Prizer Painter Stove Works, of Reading, PA due to a fire hazard. This recall includes three models of ovens 24″, 30″ and 36″- wide units in both natural and liquid propane gas options.

According to the manufacturer, Prizer Painter Stove Works, some of the wall ovens may have been improperly installed and/or have damaged flexible gas appliance connectors. These ovens were sold nationwide between January 2008 and November 2012 or between $2,250 and $3,900.

Model numbers and date codes are located on the rating plate inside the control panel. You will need to open the oven door/s to access the screws on the bottom of the control to read the model information.

If your oven is part of this recall, stop using it and contact BlueStar for instructions on identifying affected units and to schedule a repair at (800) 449-8691, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (EST) Monday through Friday.

Appliance Recalls

GE is recalling about 244,000 single, double and microwave combo wall ovens to due to fire and burn hazards.

If the wall oven door is removed and incorrectly re-attached by the installer or the consumer, the extreme heat used in the self-clean cycle can escape and potentially cause a fire or a burn hazard to consumers.

This recall involves GE wall ovens sold under the following brand names: GE®, GE Profile^TM, Monogram® and Kenmore®.

The wall ovens were sold in white, black, bisque and stainless steel. The appliances were sold between October 2002 and December 2004.

Sanyo is recalling it’s Top Open Drum series of washer-dryers sold in Japan between 2002 and 2003 after finding some of it’s parts caught fire.

The recall covers 279,583 units of the Top Open Drum-type washer-dryer which Sanyo says it will repair at no cost.

Wolf Appliance Range Recall

Wolf Appliance, Inc. is recalling 24,000 gas ranges due to delayed ignition in the 18″ oven that can cause flames to shoot towards consumers when the oven door is opened.

These gas ranges were sold under the Wolf brand name. The Wolf logo can be located on the front of the large oven door. These 48-inch, with model numbers: P48, PS48 and R48 were sold from January 1998 through June 2008.

Consumers are advised to stop using the 18″ oven and contact the manufacturer to schedule a free, in-home repair. Reports indicate only the 18″ oven is affected and the top burners and large oven may be used.
