On March 2nd, the Florida Suncoast Chapter JDRF is hosting it’s 7th Annual Hope Gala ~ The Illumination Ball at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Florida honoring Mr David Collar.
JDRF is the leading global organization focused on type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. JDRF’s research mission is to discover, develop and deliver advances that cure, better treat and prevent type 1 diabetes. As the global leader in the fight against type 1 diabetes, JDRF’s research programs are comprehensive — addressing all aspects of the disease for the best quality of life and a cure for this disease.
One of the great sponsors of the event is Cambria, the only American Quartz manufacturer. Cambria is a family owned company that started in the late 90’s making slabs for DuPont.
As part of the Hope Gala, Cambria has donated The Ultimate Kitchen package that will be auctioned off by Cheryl Tiegs. This incredible package is worth over $45,000. In addition to $10,000 in Cambria countertops, the package contains design consultation services, cabinetry, Benjamin Moore Paint and Kohler fixtures. Who wouldn’t be excited to bid on this prize? Cambria has informed me they decided not to move forward with this event this year.

Traditional Home has an on-line spread showing the home of Jill Zarin, of Real Housewives of NYC fame. The new color choices are fresh. I love the dining room’s new light and bright feel.
The kitchen cabinets were painted white with wallpaper used on the flat panels of the upper cabinets. The flooring and countertops were not changed. Mirrored backsplash helps to open up the tight space. You can see the whole spread with before photos here.
