Menswear trends have inspired Walker Zanger’s Sterling Row collection, which incorporate marble and wood-look porcelain tiles in gray, black and white tones.

The Sterling Row collection is inspired by the elegant feel of fine fabrics, the richness of burnished leather and the luxuriously appointed shops of the finest tailors in London, Manhattan and Paris.

Sterling Row Patterns are available in two color ways, Linen and Charcoal, created from three colors of Statale porcelain tile and Thasos White, Bianco Bello and Imperial Black Marble.

Sterling Row’s ten distinctive patterns offer designers a wealth of decorative options for floors or walls, alongside the technical advantage of impervious porcelain, which can be used in any residential, and most commercial applications.

The Sterling Row Tile Collection will pair well with burnished leather, charcoal accents as well gold toned and brass fixtures.

Last month the Sterling Row Collection won Gold in the Best of Bath category at the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS).

Sterling Row is priced from $55-$145 per square foot.

Perfectly Nonperfect Ceramic Wood Planks

It seems everyone wants to emulate the true look of wood while having the ease of care found in ceramics – but who wouldn’t?

Dakota by Flaviker is so realistic, it looks aged, stained and even has tiny worm holes.

Dakota takes its name from the North American landscape at the time of the pioneers, when men were colonising the great open spaces using materials provided by the land itself. The collection is inspired by planks made of alder, a timber that is widely used in construction and interior finishes, and is characterized by natural imperfections caused by ageing.

The planks are offered in four sizes: 16″ x 68″, 8″ x 68″, 8″ x 48″ and 8″ x 32″ A 3D tile, perfect for vertical surfaces, is offered 8″ x 32″ and looks like two 4″ planks. Stair pieces are also available.

The Dakota finishes are very natural and sophisticated. You can choose between Naturale (Natural), Avana (Havana) Grigio (Gray) and Tortora (Turtledove). The rectified planks are produced with a slight convex shape for easier installation. They self-level under their own weight.

Design Obsession

I seem to be Obsessed with Arabesque tile these days. It doesn’t matter if they are glass, painted clay or somewhere in between – I like them all.

The traditional Moroccan shape adds old world texture without adding a lot of pattern. The tile can look contemporary or antique depending on the material and color you select and the installation process.

Bamboo Subway Tile
