This hasn’t been a normal year, and it isn’t going to be a normal Thanksgiving.
I appreciate the wisdom of our having a national tradition of pausing to count our blessings no matter what else is happening. I am most grateful for first responders, nurses, doctors, students still pursuing a medical career, farmers, truck drivers, and grocery store workers. I am also grateful for my family and streaming services. We lost great aunt Sue to Covid this year but I will cherish life lessons she taught in commitment, courage and grace.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! I wish you the best, and next year I’ll bring the dessert.
“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.” William Arthur Ward
