Pantone Color of the Year 2018

Ultra Violet is “an enigmatic purple shade that evokes the inventive spirit and imaginative thinking that challenges the status quo.”

The wait is over. Pantone has announced Ultra Violet 18-3838 as their Color of the Year 2018.

“UltraViolet is an enigmatic purple shade that evokes the inventive spirit and imaginative thinking that challenges the status quo. A spiritual, cosmic hue, Ultra Violet pushes the boundaries of what inspires us to look upward and outward to the future.”

Back in 2014, Pantone had already given us fuchsia/purple color stories selecting Radiant Orchid as Color of The Year. Dunn-Edwards Color of the Year 2018

Dunn-Edwards 2018 Color of the Year, The Green Hour, draws inspiration from turn-of-the-century Paris, when 5 o’clock became known as “The Green Hour” due to the popularity of absinthe.

I couldn’t resist adding one more color to the COTY lineup. How can you blame me?  It’s fun to look at pretty pictures.

Sherwin-Williams Color of the Year 2018: Oceanside

Sherwin-Williams has just revealed Oceanside,  a rich, bluish-green jeweled toned hue, as its 2018 Color of the Year  (COTY).

Oceanside, SW 6496 is a fun, lively choice for Sherwin-Williams which had picked two neutrals in previous years; Poised Taupe in 2017 and Alabaster in 2016.
