Plumen Bulbs

Plumen is the antithesis of low energy light bulbs as we know them. Rather than hide the unappealing traditional compact fluorescent light (CFL) behind boring utility, Plumen 001 is a bulb you’ll want on show.

The manufacturer, Hulgar, notes that what the bulb offers in aesthetics can sometimes be the tipping point for on-the-fence consumers who aren’t easily willing to pay the extra few dollars for the eco-friendly bulbs. While Plumen is currently available only in Europe right now, it is coming to the US next year and will probably cost $30.

The PLUMEN’s name comes from the plume-like forms that drop from
the pendent fitting, twisting together as they fold outward. A bird’s
plumes are not functional and unlike their flying feathers they signify
pride, beauty and prowess, qualities in keeping with the purpose of
HULGER’s proposed bulb designs… Surely the tubular formation of these
objects should be used to its’ advantage, drawing, sculpting or scrawling
in the air with light, turning these afterthoughts into centrepiece and perhaps
in the process creating designs that people will buy through genuine
desire rather than mere moral obligation.

INO Leone Social Kitchen

Here’s a little eye candy from Toyo Kitchens & Living. The INO Leone was developed for families that Live in their Kitchen. The INO Leone Kitchen features a unique T-shaped island that brings simplicity and artistry to Kitchen Design.

Another feature I like is that the large Toe area makes the island ADA friendly.

Jason Wu for Brizo Collection

Jason Wu Faucet by Brizo | KitchAnn Style

If you follow my Blog or read Home magazines you are probably aware of the partnership between Brizo Faucets and fashion designer Jason Wu.

The relationship began in 2006 and has culminated in a new Power Room Suite that merges the signature style of both brands. The Jason Wu for Brizo Collection reinforces the position of the Brizo brand as fashion forward and innovative, and it marks the debut of Jason Wu into the world of interior design.

The collection pairs an elegant Matte Black finish with Polished Chrome or soft Brushed Nickel. The fixtures and fittings are an intersting union of Scandinavian design and intricate Baroque enfluences.

Jason Wu wanted to create a complete powder room suite, a vision which led to the addition of several pieces not typically found in Brizo collections, including a wastebasket, free-standing soap pump, soap dish, and drawer knobs and pulls. The silhouette of a Baroque-inspired flower is subtly woven throughout the pieces.

The Odin facuet, the center of the collection, features a Jason Wu owl emblem on the tip of the handle. The handle also has a unique and unexpected rotating motion according to Brizo. The Odin faucet also incorporates SmartTouchPlus Technology, which allows users to start and stop the flow of water with a simple touch anywhere on the spout or handle.

But wait, there’s more! The Odin faucet has new temperature sensing indicator technology. An LED light display built into the base of the faucet uses shades of light, from blue to magenta to red, to indicate actual water temperature.

The freestanding round pedestal basin from Blu Bathworks has a floral embossed pattern that adds a touch of elegance to a sleek bathroom fixture perfect for today’s modern bathroom.

The SA0505 basin is manufactured from the company’s own blu.stone solid surface material in matte or gloss finish.  Blu.stone provides the look and feel of natural stone but is stain, scratch and impact resistant.  The compact 17 3/4″ x 32 5/8″ size makes it ideal for use in a powder room or built into a niche in a custom master bathroom.
