Dunn-Edwards Corp. has announced its 2023 Color + Design Trends, a collection of four distinct color palettes — Live in Joy, Liberated Nomad, Well Intentions, and Life in Poetry — that blend elements of the past, present and future. These “cocoons of escape” transport us to a place where everything is blended and time is irrelevant.
LIVE IN JOY – athletic inspired brights, retro-futuristic decor, 60s and 80s influences
Think Optimism to the extreme. Playful eighties inspiration and mod vibes in this color story will make you want to get up and dance. Graphic brights pop against fresh pastels with raw wood accents. Key colors include DEFD49 Kinetic Energy, DE5027 Razzle Dazzle and DE5398 Lemon Punch.

LIBERATED NOMAD – iconic design elements mix with primitive pieces, lost traditions re-imagined
This complex color story combines arts, folklore, Baroque, and Industrial influences to realign fragments of style in provocative ways. A celebration of diversity, try daring combinations that travelers regions and time. Rich colors such as DEFD14 Red-y for Fun, DEFD37 Malachite Green, and DE5811 Summer Night beg for chiaroscuro.

WELL INTENTIONS – earth-inspired neutrals, sci-fi inspired dwellings, wellness
Raw materials mix with hyper-innovative, eco-friendly materials to create comfortable spaces. Natural design is no longer synonymous with primitive – it has been transported into the future. DE5880 Clean Slate, DEFD28 Bourbon Sweet Tea, and DEFD30 Grassy Knoll exemplify the new duality: the desire for earth-friendly living and extraterrestrial pursuits.

LIFE IN POETRY – sun-bleached pastels, romantic botanicals, nostalgic heirloom pieces, work-cation spaces
This summery palette bursts with freshness to satisfy our nostalgic craving for simpler, more romantic times. Home and work spaces that feel like seaside retreats adorned with handcrafts, an abundance of florals and imperfect objects. This color story celebrates creativity and embraces the charm of a more carefee lifestyle. DE5103 Pink Glamour, DET408 Grapevine, and DE5464 Lemon Gelato are stars of the palette.
