Behr Paint just announced its Color of the Year 2019.
Meet Blueprint (S470-5), a mid-tone blue that can be described as “warmer then denim, softer than navy.”
Blueprint anchors Behr’s annual Color Trend Report, which encompasses a palette of 15 supporting colors, that is forecasted to influence design in the coming year.
The 2019 Color trend palette is divided into 4 color stories: Color Binge, Down to Earth, Soft Focus and Inspired Curation.
At first glance, Blueprint might look a bit familiar. That’s because Denim Drift was Akzo Nobel’s Color of the Year 2017. While similar, Denim Drift is a bit more pale and dusky.
While Behr is still a newcomer to the Color of the Year (COTY) predictions, it appears Blueprint will be as well received as their very first
COTY choice from last year- In the Moment.
Blueprint Inspiration
Behr’s Color of the Year is an approachable color that conjures up vintage blueprints builders used to rely on to bring architectural designs to life. For Behr, Blueprint lays the foundation for new beginning- a reimagination of our lives expressed through color and design.
“It symbolizes our desire for positive energy, stability and confidence, both at home and out in the world,” Woelfel says. “It’s a hue that will stand the test of time.” – Erica Woelfel, Behr lead color expert
There’s no denying the universal appeal of the classic blue. It works in both modern and traditional interiors.
The high-gloss finish on these beautiful built-ins adds depth and sophistication to this Maser Closet. Why would you ever want a white closet when you could have this?
Because of their unifying nature, uncomplicated monochromatic palettes work beautifully in modern spaces. Behr’s Color Binge palette (minus the Antigua) keeps our attention on this vanity wall.
If you can take your eyes off the amazing plate of food, you may be inspired to stain your wood floors blue for this fall.
You don’t have to be a risk taker to incorporate this color into your home. Adding something as simple as colored grout can add impactful style to your interior.
With blue being one of the most popular colors, it’s not hard to imagine people wanting to update the exterior of their home with Blueprint.
