Behr Paint Company announces Cracked Pepper as its 2024 Color of the Year. Behr calls Cracked Pepper a “timeless and modern hue that awakens the senses and exudes confidence on every scale.”
While Cracked Pepper is literally at the opposite end of the spectrum as its 2023 color of the year, a warm white called Blank Canvas, the reveal is in line with a collective embrace of moodier, darker colors. A recent report from the real estate company Zillow found that prospective homebuyers were willing to pay more for homes with dark gray or black interiors.
This versatile shade works almost anywhere. It’s a great options for giving the exterior of your home a more edgy appeal. While painting from a lighter to a darker shade can be more arduous, the payoff is well worth it.
Use Cracked Pepper to spruce up bland kitchen cabinets, your front door, or an entire paneled room. I love the use of vivid blue with dark grey in this Australian seaside retreat.
Warm metals such as brass and copper pair beautifully with Cracked Pepper. Don’t just think hardware and lighting when specifying metal tones; enhance your cozy nest with metallic tile accents for luxurious comfort.
As a softer version of traditional black, Cracked Pepper bringing a timeless and statement-making touch to your space. As a treat for those who have followed this post to the end, I have one more inspiration photo that showcases the “Barbenheimer” trend.
