This fall, paint brand Benjamin Moore makes a splash with its annual Color of the Year announcement. Aegean Teal 2136-40, a rich blend of blue-green and gray.
Benjamin Moore selected First Light, a soft, airy pink, as its Color of the Year 2020. This year, the brand gravitated toward inspiration from soothing, sunbaked tones that create an emotional connection with one’s surroundings.
“Aegean Teal 2136-40 and the corresponding Color Trends 2021 palette express a welcoming, lived-in quality that celebrates the connections and real moments that take place within the home.” – Andrea Magno, director of color marketing and development at Benjamin Moore

Aegean Teal is not as deep as Sherwin-Williams Color of the Year 2018, Oceanside . It’s actually closer to Behr’s green-blue In The Moment – their very first color of the year presented in 2017.

Teal is one of my favorite colors because it radiates the peace, calm and tranquility of blue and the balance and growth of green with the uplifting energy of yellow.

Without a doubt, custom cabinetry in Aegean Teal would look spectacular in a kitchen or bathroom. Also, consider painting existing millwork this harmonious color for a splash of style.

A contemporary take on the mid-century modern aesthetic is a great time to play with combining Aegean Teal with bold colors, luxurious textures and gilded fixtures.

Aegean Teal joins 11 other shades to make up Benjamin Moore’s Color Trends 2021 palette.
